We arrived today in San Pedro, Belize. It's definitely nice here. We left Caves branch day before yesterday, headed to Belize City and then hopped a water taxi over to Caye Caulker where we stayed last night...it was interesting. It would have been nice if there weren't so many broken bottles and pieces of garbage everywhere. We definitely were not excited about their trash disposal program of...burning trash...though we guess it was sort of nice for them to burn it downwind...sort of...We luckily did have a few good times there as well. We had a wonderful dinner right on the water in full view of a full moon. A really large Egret decided to join us and was walking around in the water just a few feet from our table. Abe went with chicken, while Heather had a full snapper...mmm...definitely fresh :)
San Pedro is pretty. It's a bit more expensive then Caye Caulker, but it also seems to be much more taken care of. There are tons of Pelicans here and a lot of friendly people. We'll likely be heading towards Antigua, Guatamala soon. Will write more later :)
Much love :)

ReplyDeleteWow you guys! I am getting the travel itch just reading about your adventures. Dave and I stayed in Antigua a couple nights while on our honeymoon,, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. We never did make it up the volcanos, our hotel was too nice!
